In the Contemporary (Day Sale) auction, the work History Modernized sold for USD 35,250.00 (€ 39,350.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josiah Mcelheny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work EARLY MODERNISM MIRRORED AND REFLECTED INFINITELY, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 146,500.00 (€ 101,905.95).
