Despite a disappointment, a good price for Josh Reames
When the work Westest by Josh Reames was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 11,970.00 (€ 12,223.71). Despite this disappointing result, Westest is the most expensive artwork by Josh Reames that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Josh Reames
Als die Arbeit Westest von Josh Reames im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 11.970,00 (€ 12.223,71) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Westest das teuerste Kunstwerk von Josh Reames, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
