The work Mound Valley, Kansas and Dalsua Mountain, Bainbridge, Australia; two works by Joseph Yoakum was sold in the American Furniture, Outsider and Folk Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2014. The auction ended at the price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,918.91), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 5,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Yoakum - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,046.33).
