Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Home of Mrs. Florena Tutnor, dated 1964 by Joseph Yoakum. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,211.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Yoakum - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,046.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Home of Mrs. Florena Tutnor, dated 1964 von Joseph Yoakum zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.211,23) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Yoakum mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964 beobachtet, die im Februar letzten Jahres für USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.046,33) versteigert wurde.
