Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The road home by Joseph Thors was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,694.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Thors - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures in an extensive wooded landscape, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,120.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The road home von Joseph Thors kam im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.694,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Thors mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figures in an extensive wooded landscape beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.120,36) versteigert wurde.
