Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscapes near Leamington, Warwickshire, a pair each 25.4 x 35.6cm (10 x 14in). (2) by Joseph Thors was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 701.25 (€ 799.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Thors achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures in an extensive wooded landscape in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,120.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscapes near Leamington, Warwickshire, a pair each 25.4 x 35.6cm (10 x 14in). (2) von Joseph Thors kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 701,25 (€ 799,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Thors erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures in an extensive wooded landscape im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.120,36).
