In May 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A wooded river landscape with faggot gatherers by Joseph Thors. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,715.25) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Thors have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in an extensive wooded landscape in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,120.36).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with faggot gatherers von Joseph Thors zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.715,25) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Thors auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures in an extensive wooded landscape im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.120,36).
