Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Figures before ducks on a pond; and A figure on a country path with chickens outside a cottage by Joseph Thors was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2012. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,910.60), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Thors have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in an extensive wooded landscape in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,120.36).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Figures before ducks on a pond; and A figure on a country path with chickens outside a cottage von Joseph Thors wurde im Juli 2012 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.910,60) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Thors auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures in an extensive wooded landscape im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.120,36).
