Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of an architrave to a door at Albano supposed to belong to Pompey's Palace by Joseph Gandy was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,384.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Gandy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Design for Waterloo Palace, the proposed town residence of the Duke of Wellington in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 118,100.00 (€ 150,228.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of an architrave to a door at Albano supposed to belong to Pompey's Palace von Joseph Gandy wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert.
