The work Entablature and capital in the Arch of Septimius Severus by Joseph Gandy was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,768.72), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Gandy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Design for Waterloo Palace, the proposed town residence of the Duke of Wellington in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 118,100.00 (€ 150,228.36).

Die Arbeit Entablature and capital in the Arch of Septimius Severus von Joseph Gandy wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.768,72) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Gandy erzielen.
