Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Sharpening Arrows by Joseph Henry Sharp for USD 100,000.00 (€ 85,859.02). This price was achieved in the auction The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Henry Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sharpening Arrows von Joseph Henry Sharp für USD 100.000,00 (€ 85.859,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Medicine Teepee im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
