Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Indian Chief by Joseph Henry Sharp was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,312.50 (€ 106,197.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Henry Sharp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Indian Chief von Joseph Henry Sharp kam im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 125.312,50 (€ 106.197,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Medicine Teepee im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
