Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joseph Henry Sharp achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. In the Western Art auction, the work Gladiolus and Golden Rod sold for USD 53,295.00 (€ 50,578.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Henry Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Western Art wurde die Arbeit Gladiolus and Golden Rod für USD 53.295,00 (€ 50.578,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Medicine Teepee im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
