Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Self-Portrait by Joseph Floch was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,246.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Floch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frau im roten Kleid in July 2021 with an auction result of EUR 50,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Joseph Floch im September 2009 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.246,75) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Floch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Frau im roten Kleid im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 50.000,00.
