Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cape Ann Ii by Joseph Floch was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,198.71). Admittedly, works by Joseph Floch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Frau im roten Kleid in July 2021 with an auction result of EUR 50,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cape Ann Ii von Joseph Floch im April 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.198,71) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Floch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Frau im roten Kleid im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 50.000,00.
