Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 10 Photographs, 1940-1972 by Josef Sudek was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,565.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Sudek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre (Étude De Nature-Morte), 1952 in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 300,750.00.
