This work without title by José Joya was sold in the Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,500,000.00 (€ 273,136.25), 39% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Joya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elysium, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von José Joya wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.500.000,00 (€ 273.136,25) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von José Joya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elysium beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37) versteigert wurde.
