This artwork by José Joya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2015. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Ocean Landscape sold for HKD 1,840,000.00 (€ 215,899.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Joya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elysium, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von José Joya erzielte im Mai 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Ocean Landscape für HKD 1.840.000,00 (€ 215.899,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von José Joya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elysium beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37) versteigert wurde.
