This artwork by José Joya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Moss And White Sand sold for HKD 3,000,000.00 (€ 316,547.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by José Joya; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Elysium sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).

Dieses Kunstwerk von José Joya erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Moss And White Sand für HKD 3.000.000,00 (€ 316.547,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von José Joya; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Elysium im Mai 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37).
