Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale, which included the work Love Rites by José Joya. The price achieved of HKD 2,240,000.00 (€ 263,601.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,800,000.00 – 2,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Joya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elysium, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 5,100,000.00 (€ 582,351.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Love Rites von José Joya zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.240.000,00 (€ 263.601,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.800.000,00 – 2.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von José Joya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elysium beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 5.100.000,00 (€ 582.351,37) versteigert wurde.
