Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Contortionists II by José Clemente Orozco was sold in the Prints & MultiplesFeaturing the Arthur N. Gilbert Collection auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,183.74), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Clemente Orozco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The City in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 923,680.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Contortionists II von José Clemente Orozco wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Prints & MultiplesFeaturing the Arthur N. Gilbert Collection bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.183,74) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Clemente Orozco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The City im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.142.500,00 (€ 923.680,17).
