In February this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Man With a Briefcase (C) (G. 1484) by Jonathan Borofsky. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,696.10), 62% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jonathan Borofsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man with Briefcase A; B; C; at No. 3274714; and at No. 5876246 (G. 1482-4; 1461) in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 45,245.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man With a Briefcase (C) (G. 1484) von Jonathan Borofsky zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.696,10) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jonathan Borofsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man with Briefcase A; B; C; at No. 3274714; and at No. 5876246 (G. 1482-4; 1461) im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 45.245,46).
