Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work How Long Have You Wanted This by Jon Pylypchuk was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,500.00 – 4,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,139.08). Admittedly, works by Jon Pylypchuk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (I Will Be Gentle With You/If You Are Kind I Will Love You) in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,390.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit How Long Have You Wanted This von Jon Pylypchuk im September 2012 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.139,08) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jon Pylypchuk auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (I Will Be Gentle With You/If You Are Kind I Will Love You) im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.390,09).
