Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 1966-1972-1988 by John Wells was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,885.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Wells - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Structure In Oval, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 1966-1972-1988 von John Wells wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.885,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Wells mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Structure In Oval beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39) versteigert wurde.
