Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Landscape 20 x 30.3 cm. (7 7/8 x 11 7/8 in.) by John Wells. It changed hands for a price of GBP 16,575.00 (€ 19,206.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Wells - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Structure In Oval, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape 20 x 30.3 cm. (7 7/8 x 11 7/8 in.) von John Wells zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 16.575,00 (€ 19.206,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Wells mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Structure In Oval beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39) versteigert wurde.
