Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Variations by John Wells was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,444.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Wells have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Structure In Oval in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Variations von John Wells kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.444,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Wells auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Structure In Oval im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39).
