Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Virtue achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Landscape No. 29 sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,169.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Virtue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape No. 87 in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Virtue erzielte im März 2011 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Landscape No. 29 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.169,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Virtue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07).
