Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Governess by John Strickland Goodall was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in London in October 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 650.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Strickland Goodall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Britishthe Tennis Party; Tennis On A Summer'S Afternoon in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,169.86).
