Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Christies in London held the auction IN THE FIELD - An Important Private Collection of Sporting Art, which included the work The Royal Enclosure, Ascot by John Strickland Goodall. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,068.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Strickland Goodall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Britishthe Tennis Party; Tennis On A Summer'S Afternoon, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,169.86).

Im Dezember 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion IN THE FIELD - An Important Private Collection of Sporting Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Royal Enclosure, Ascot von John Strickland Goodall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.068,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Strickland Goodall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Britishthe Tennis Party; Tennis On A Summer'S Afternoon beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.169,86) versteigert wurde.
