Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & MultiplesFeaturing the Arthur N. Gilbert Collection, which included the work Prize Stallion by John Steuart Curry. The price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 860.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steuart Curry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 175,500.00 (€ 149,158.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & MultiplesFeaturing the Arthur N. Gilbert Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Prize Stallion von John Steuart Curry zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 860,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Steuart Curry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.500,00 (€ 149.158,59).
