Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Passenger #11) by John Schabel for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,585.49). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Schabel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Passenger # 2, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,628.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Passenger #11) von John Schabel für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.585,49) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Schabel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Passenger # 2 beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.628,12) versteigert wurde.
