Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Russell could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work Portraits of Samuel (1745-1806) and Anne Buck (1749-1832) of Ulley & Carnaby changed hands for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,513.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans in November 2020 with an auction result of EUR 45,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Russell konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 wechselte die Arbeit Portraits of Samuel (1745-1806) and Anne Buck (1749-1832) of Ulley & Carnaby für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.513,99) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.500,00.
