Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Russell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April last year. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait of a clergyman, half-length, holding a book sold for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,800.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans in November 2020 with an auction result of EUR 45,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Russell erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a clergyman, half-length, holding a book für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.800,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.500,00.
