Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of John Johnson (1732-1814) by John Russell was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2012. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,731.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Russell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans in November 2020 with an auction result of EUR 45,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of John Johnson (1732-1814) von John Russell wurde im Juli 2012 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.731,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Russell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.500,00.
