Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Charles Elliott (1752-1826); Together With A Portrait Of His Wife Eling Venn by John Russell was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction at Sothebys in London in July 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,025.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Russell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait De Lady Georgiana Cavendish (1783-1858), Future Comtesse De Carlisle, À L'Âge De 6 Ans in November 2020 with an auction result of EUR 45,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Charles Elliott (1752-1826); Together With A Portrait Of His Wife Eling Venn von John Russell wurde im Juli 2011 in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.025,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
