This artwork by John Rogers Herbert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2014. In the The Raglan Collection: Wellington, Waterloo and The Crimea And Works of Art from the Collection of the Marquesses of Londonderry auction, the work Portrait of Lady Priscilla Wellesley-Pole, Countess of Westmorland, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress with ermine stole sold for GBP 687.50 (€ 844.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Rogers Herbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Our Saviour subject to his Parents at Nazareth in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).
