In September 2021 Christies held the auction An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection, which included the work The Holy Family by John Rogers Herbert. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,490.54) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Rogers Herbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Our Saviour subject to his Parents at Nazareth in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Holy Family von John Rogers Herbert zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.490,54) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Rogers Herbert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Our Saviour subject to his Parents at Nazareth im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 55.829,19).
