In September 2021 Christies held the auction An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection, which included the work The Madian Merchants Taking Joseph To Egypt by John Rogers Herbert. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,726.35), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Rogers Herbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Our Saviour subject to his Parents at Nazareth in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).

Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madian Merchants Taking Joseph To Egypt von John Rogers Herbert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.726,35) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Rogers Herbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Our Saviour subject to his Parents at Nazareth im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 55.829,19).
