Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction The Gyrn Castle House Sale, North Wales.Property from Gyrn Castle, Nantlys, Mostyn Hall and Capesthorne Hall, which included the work The Hunting Leopard by John Rogers Herbert. The price achieved of GBP 22,800.00 (€ 33,376.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by John Rogers Herbert have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2003 the work Our Saviour subject to his Parents at Nazareth was auctioned for GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).
