Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Pleasure Craft by John Perceval was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. It changed hands for a price of AUD 198,000.00 (€ 102,103.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Perceval - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Ship'S Graveyard, which sold at auction in November 2007 for AUD 468,000.00 (€ 281,921.57).

Die Arbeit Australian Pleasure Craft von John Perceval wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 198.000,00 (€ 102.103,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Perceval mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Ship'S Graveyard beobachtet, die im November 2007 für AUD 468.000,00 (€ 281.921,57) versteigert wurde.
