This artwork by John Nost Sartorius achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2014. In the Sporting & Wildlife Art auction, the work A yeomanry officer on horseback; and A German Hussar on horseback sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,094.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nost Sartorius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Run with Mr. James Drake Brockman's hounds at Beachborough, Kent: Leaving the Kennels, Underhill, Shornecliffe; Going to Covert; Gone Away; Full Cry; The Death - Treeing the Fox; and The Return Home in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 107,550.00 (€ 88,307.74).
