Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le soin de chevaux by John Nost Sartorius was sold in the The Classics, Paris auction at Bonhams in Paris in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,200.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nost Sartorius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Run with Mr. James Drake Brockman's hounds at Beachborough, Kent: Leaving the Kennels, Underhill, Shornecliffe; Going to Covert; Gone Away; Full Cry; The Death - Treeing the Fox; and The Return Home in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 107,550.00 (€ 88,307.74).

Die Arbeit Le soin de chevaux von John Nost Sartorius wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Classics, Paris bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.200,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Nost Sartorius erzielen.
