Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Swayed by the Desire for the Middle, 1983 by John Newman for USD 2,629.00 (€ 2,185.01). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Newman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tolled Belle in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,958.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Swayed by the Desire for the Middle, 1983 von John Newman für USD 2.629,00 (€ 2.185,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Newman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tolled Belle im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.958,97).
