Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Newman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2013. In the First Open: Summer Edition auction, the work Study for Shell Shock sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,117.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Newman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tolled Belle sold at auction in September 2015 with the realized price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,958.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Newman erzielte im Juli 2013 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Summer Edition wurde die Arbeit Study for Shell Shock für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.117,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Newman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Tolled Belle im September 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.958,97).
