The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,088.17) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by John McGhie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By the sea in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 34,908.12).
