This artwork by John McGhie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May last year. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Sands of Iona sold for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,399.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John McGhie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work By the sea in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 34,908.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John McGhie erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Sands of Iona für GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.399,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John McGhie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit By the sea im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.900,00 (€ 34.908,12).
