Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Picking wild flowers by John McGhie was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May 2021. The price achieved of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,384.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John McGhie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By the sea, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 23,900.00 (€ 34,908.12).
