Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waiting for the boats to come in by John McGhie was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,922.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John McGhie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work By the sea in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 34,908.12).

Die Arbeit Waiting for the boats to come in von John McGhie kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.922,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John McGhie erzielen.
