Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Picking Wild Flowers by John McGhie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,746.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John McGhie have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2003 the work By the sea was auctioned for GBP 23,900.00 (€ 34,908.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Picking Wild Flowers von John McGhie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.746,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John McGhie konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2003 die Arbeit By the sea für GBP 23.900,00 (€ 34.908,12) versteigert.
