Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Five plates, from Mountjoy Suite by John McLean was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 790.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by John McLean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coterie in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,358.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Five plates, from Mountjoy Suite von John McLean kam im Juni 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 790,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John McLean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coterie im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.320,00 (€ 6.358,55).
